Start LearningFloyd's Services was born in the summer of 2020 — right in the middle of COVID. At 14, I had always planned to start a lawn mowing company. I spent months hunting for a mower that could handle real work without burning through my budget. I never found one. So I bought a pressure washer instead. That turned out to be the best accidental business decision I've ever made.
The early days were anything but glamorous. My mom drove me to every single job — dropping me off in the morning and picking me up in the afternoon. Neither of us had ever driven with a trailer before. We figured it out together, one attempt at a time. Every dollar I earned went straight back into the business: better equipment, more services, higher standards. Each year my client list grew, and so did the trust people placed in me.
Through high school, most of my free time was spent either out at jobs or working on the business. Now heading into my sophomore year at the University of Tennessee, I've set aside dedicated days each week to keep things growing. This fall I plan to work more than ever before.
